Daily Vet It's Abscess Season Again!

Thursday. It appears we’re settling into another pattern here at Sunset Animal Clinic: It’s 4 PM and time for the afternoon abscess series. Each day at 4 another cat bite abscess case comes in the door. Today was only day number two so it’s hard to call it a pattern but I’m pretty sure we’ll see another one

I sometimes wonder whether people think we veterinary professionals are acting rudely and insensitively in discussing the maladies of others, pets as a way to make our work more entertaining to one another.

After all, it’s no different than the kind of levity portrayed on Gray’s

Anatomy. At least there’s no sexual tension between patients and professionals in our brand of medicine (at leastnot anywhere I’ve

worked).

But its not actually as if we really need to make our work more entertaining. I mean, what can be more entertaining than a foul pocket of pus under a cat’s skin?

That kind of fun needs no dressing up, wouldn’t you agree?
