Friday. Miss Brown’s leg has been pronounced intact by her orthopedist. Dr. Wosar found that her [previously injured and surgically repaired] leg was indeed very painful due to a new trauma of unknown origin. Thankfully, the site of surgical repair appears to be perfectly unharmed.
Because Miss Brown still seems nauseous and gastrically unhappy, I will keep her in the hospital a couple of days and ensure that she’s 100% before she goes home. I will also reiterate to her family (especially the children) that she must be allowed to rest and recover and should anything occur that threatens the health of the leg she needs to be seen immediately.
Miss Brown will receive opiate pain relievers so as not to upset her stomach (any more than it already is) with the NSAID pain relievers we usually use. She will be allowed to drink small volumes of water at a time to reduce the risk of vomiting and she’ll receive some stomach-protecting drugs (Pepcid AC) to help her tummy as well.
Here she is looking splendid, wouldn’t you agree?
