I do notice that mutts rescued from uncertain fate on the streets tend to be a lot more robust, healthy, and they're terrific athletes! But I'm biased. Nothing against pugs.

You are so right on that score. Mutts are the healthiest reproducers of all. The common domestic shorthair cat also reproduces well--as we all know from our neighborhoods teeming with cats. Large-headed, short-nosed breeds (like pugs) have the biggest problems reproducing, as do the teeny-tiny ones. Want to know how much that teacup realy cost? At least one pup dies for each one you pay $1500 to take home. I`ll get off my soapbox now. Cheers!
