I wish I could lie to you and tell you that Piglet is out of his oxygen cage and doing well—but I’m a terrible liar.
Piglet’s appearance was improving hourly until 4 PM yesterday. He collapsed at that time—and died soon thereafter. This happens frequently to post-surgical cases. This is why we say the first 24 hours are critical. More than likely his body couldn’t process all he changes it had recently undergone.
Presumably, Piglet succumbed to sepsis as a result of the pneumonia that accompanied his condition. Sepsis is a whole body infection that quickly leads to cardiac arrest and death. It’s almost always irreversible.
I don’t need to tell you how distraught his parents are.
I don’t know what else to say. This will be a short post today.

I'm so sorry to hear about Piglet... it must be terribly hard on his family, as he was so young and I'm sure his sudden illness was a shock.

I hope the parents will be ok. I will pray for them. I remember losing our toy poodle Frtiz about 10 years ago. It still hurts. God bless little Piglet.
