I convinced one of my knitting friends to make a selection of kitty blankets and gifted them to a local cat shelter. :) I'm giving her more yarn to do this with - and I won't have any more yarn hidden in various places of my house. :) The local girl scout troop bought a lot of polar fleece on sale and made more kitty blankets for another local no kill shelter.

I also gifted a local cat shelter with a boat load of catnip toys- and they gave me homegrown catnip- so I can make more. It's a wonderful cycle I intend to keep doing.

I think I would love more stuff that combines knitting and/or quilting with pets. I can make several pet toys, and I plan to make more for the local shelters. :)

How can you recommend Greenies? Have you read the list of ingredients? Here are a few of the ingredients: Gelatin, Wheat Protein Isolate, Glycerin, Soy Protein Isolate, Sodium Caseinate, Natural Poultry Flavor, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Vegetable Oil (Preserved with Propyl Gallate)

Wheat and soy are 2 of the main food allergens for animals, plus dogs and cats do not to be eating all this junk!

How about recommending natural treats like Bully Sticks or tendon chews http://www.bullysticksonline.com

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm going to, as soon as I finish this pair of socks.
