Happy zebra day!
There are zebras out there, and sometimes they come in herds.....

Sorry to hear that you're having one of those weeks. It must be something in the air besides bad cat and dog food.

I was supposed to have Oreo's paw x-rayed last week. I got a phone call a few hours before his appointment telling me that my vet was up to her ears with emergencies. If I still wanted to come in, there was a good chance that I could very well end up waiting a few hours.

If there was more going on with Oreo's paw than what he's doing, I probably would have taken him in but since his gimp isn't as bad as it was a few pounds ago, I decided to postpone to a later date.

Hooray Occam's Razor! I'd forgotten about the horse/zebra analogy, next time I teach Occam's Razor (scientists should always look for the "simplest" explanation, requiring the fewest number of assumptions) I'll be sure to mention it.

zandperl: I knew that term once long ago. Thanks for the refresher!

Dr. Khuly,

I commented elsewhere but here it is again, you write beautifully! With the ever-growing knowledge gained in veterinary medicine, I often wonder if many of the veterinary diseases labelled "idiopathic" will end up really being zebras.... or horses.....
