There's several plans that offer "full emergency coverage" for as little as $10/month. What about those plans? Do the numbers make sense or is it just another "fine print" issue that I'm not catching?
I think that is a very affordable peace-of-mind solution. In fact, I pay $35/month for acccident and illness coverage (with no genetic exclusions - whew!) ($3500 cap) and am thinking of switching to the emergency coverage ($10,000 cap). I can afford all the month to month stuff. It's the potential emergency crisis that keeps me up at night.

I would like catastrophic insurance, too. I do have pet insurance, and probably fit the profile the the relatively affluent buyer. I decided to buy it after spending about $10,000 to try to save a dog with an autoimmune blood disease (the effort was unsuccessful). I use VPI, and it costs about $25/month for my young dogs (one is 2, the other 4), and it cost $75/month for a thirteen year old dog. I've been relatively happy with the coverage. I don't put in claims for the small stuff (and it doesn't cover routine care). For the big stuff (amputation, chemotherapy) for the thirteen year old, I got about 75% of the claim (about $3500 for costs over $4000)--I do have double cancer coverage for all the dogs.

The $10 per month plan I've seen only covers "accidents," not illness. Hit by car? Covered. Pancreatitis? Not covered.

Double cancer coverage sounds good. It's almost like a forced savings plan. I applaud your high level of concern for your pets.

In my case, I'd like a plan that covers both for a small monthly fee but that only kicks in after I've spent $500. Has anyone out there seen any higher-deductible plans?

Embrace Pet Insurance allows you to customize your insurance so you can elect a $500 a yr. deductible among other things. You can read about it here...

I'm considering it myself.

In 1981, ed hardy and his wife formed Hardy Marks Publications. In 2004, Christian Bale licensed the rights to produce the high-end Ed Hardy UK line, which is based on Hardy's imagery. Prior to the ed hardy clothing line, Bale was the Head Designer at Von Dutch Originals, which marketed the imagery of Kenny Howard. Don ed hardy, commented, As demand for my artwork continues to skyrocket, I felt it was ed hardy clothing time to take on a partner that could help me manage the demand and opportunities for the ed hardy T-shirts name. Iconix is at the forefront of brand management and clearly has the capabilities to dramatically grow the Ed Hardy UK business. I'm thrilled to have them as a partner.
