No question at all, that canines parallel humans in health and medical aspects. Human treatments have been transposed over to dogs and vice versa. Having a breed (Scottish Terrier) long known to be 18 times more at risk for TCC (Transitional Cell Carinoma) of the bladder, ureters, and prostate, Purdue has done several studies into suspected environmental causes, including pesticides, herbicides, flea & tick products. There is now a suspected genetic cause & research in progress for that. If it comes to pass that factors can be identified, no doubt the human population will benefit.

I wonder about the PCBs and other toxins in the fish oils and fish meals
added to all the major brands of premium food. PCBs are proven to
degrade mental capacity in children, among other things. I wonder
whether there is any link to behavioral problems in dogs.
