Terry Gross interviewed Nick Trout about his book on March 20 on "Fresh Air." See http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?story...
He's entertaining when he talks, too.

Great review! It's now on my list.

And I think you should write your own and shop it around. I'm SURE you could easily get a book deal as well. :-)

Great review....I'm interested.

I generally stay away from Angell (very, very expensive and I've personally heard many more bad experiences than good.....but that's just me), but it's good to know there's a passionate surgeon there if anything were to happen to my dog in the middle of the night.

To give your poor wallet/credit card...put a hold on the title at your local library's website! http://www.mdpls.org. Looks like they have 7 copies; don't know how long the wait list is, but if you can put off instant gratification you can certainly save a few bucks. And then if you still want your very own copy, you can get a used one (although I'm sure Dr. Trout appreciates your purchase). If I bought all the books I read, my habit would probably equal my mortgage. But when (not if) your book is published, Dr. K. I'll buy a copy -- if you autograph it on your book tour through the Bay Area!

Our library system has 11 copies and I'm #6, so not too bad of a wait.

Aside from the tip about the library... One more way to help your bank account would be to sign up for Amazon Associates. I admit I'm biased in favor of my employer, but since you're linking to us anyway, you might as well sign up so that you get a kick-back every time someone purchases products you recommend through your site. (And no, you don't need to change the layout or look and feel of your site in any way. It's as simple as using our tool to generate product links.) https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/

I love your blog. I would love to see you get financially rewarded for it.

Thanks, Quincy. I'm currently still playing with my site's layout and when it's all done Amazon's on my short affiliate list. thanks!

I've just finished "Tell Me Where It Hurts", and was as charmed as I was the first time I read a James Herriott book. I laughed, I cried, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Aqui no Brasil o livro se chama "DIGA 33". Muito bom, excelente, show de bola, gostei muito. Além de ser fiel ao que realmente é a profissão, o DR. Nick sabe escrever. Parabéns!
