Help, my cat has a hematoma due to shaking his head because of an ear infection. I've taken Tom in to the vet twice and had a drained. then the vet recommended surgery that cost $700 which I don't have. I just came home and the hematoma seemed to burst, it's smaller now and he has dried blood all around his ear. What should I do? I've been given him medicine to treat the ear infection as well an anti-inflammatory med's the vet gave me. How do I clean him up? Do I use peroxide or just water? I'm a single mom and completely strapped for cash at the moment, I've already spent over $500 in vet bills for both Tom and my dog Shamoon this month - when it rains, it pours.....
